The Opinel No. 13 Stainless Steel Folding Knife is an impressive addition to the Opinel collection, first introduced in the 1970s.

Originally conceived as a novelty item, it has since gained popularity among collectors and outdoor enthusiasts alike. When fully extended, this folding knife measures nearly 50 centimetres in length, making it considerably larger than other models in the Opinel range.

Crafted with a beech wood handle, the knife is designed for comfort and functionality, featuring the Virobloc safety ring that securely locks the blade in both open and closed positions. The blade is constructed from Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel, known for its anti-corrosive properties and ease of maintenance.

While primarily for display & collectible purposes, this versatile knife is well-suited for outdoor activities, such as slicing large fruits, meats, cheeses and barbecuing, thanks to its heat-resistant beech wood handle.

1. Cleaning: After each use, clean the blade with warm, soapy water and dry it thoroughly to prevent rust. Avoid soaking the knife in water.

2. Sharpening: Regularly sharpen the blade using a whetstone or sharpening tool to maintain its cutting quality.

3. Storage: Store the knife in a dry place, preferably in a sheath, to protect the blade and handle from moisture and damage.

4. Maintenance: Periodically apply a light coat of food-safe mineral oil to the blade to enhance corrosion resistance and maintain its appearance.

5. Handle Care: The wood handle can be treated with a wood conditioner to preserve its natural beauty and prevent drying or cracking.

By adhering to these care instructions, you can ensure that your knife remains in excellent condition for years to come.
